SUSTAINABILITY FRAMEWORK AND SUSTAINABLE INFRASTRUCTURE PLANNING
TRX (previously known as Kuala Lumpur International Financial District or KLIFD) is a 70-acre development built by 1MDB for international finance and business in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. TRX was a key enabler to strengthen the position of Kuala Lumpur as a global financial city and aimed to bring together leading financial institutions and top global companies to create a catalytic pool of world-class players.
While at BuroHappold, Steven served as a core-team member supporting a Machado Silvetti led masterplan. Steven provided sustainable framework guidance and energy infrastructure planning. He led the techno-economic analysis and strategy development for the district energy solutions, advising on the phasing and implementation of centralized services distribution and one-site generation. This recommendation culminated, following an RFP evaluation, in the selection of MUSCOs (multiple-utility service companies) to be preferred partners for the onward design, build, own, operation and maintenance of the project’s infrastructure.
